Providence 365: Week 13

Hello, sisters; this is Barbara here with Providence 365, week 13.

I’m beginning to rethink my belief that doing a 365 project is a good idea:  it seems that the time just flies by now that I’m keeping track of it!  We’re already over 1/5 of the way through 2011, and I thought we just had Christmas.  So, I guess I’d better not waste any more time.

One of my very favorite blogs to read is Femina, written by a mother, her two daughters, and her daughter-in-law.  I enjoy it so much partly because I never know what I’m going to get in the next post.  It might be a tasty recipe, an funny story about the crazy things children do, or a deep theological insight.

A few days ago, the post was a little essay on providence.  I’m sure by now that you might be in need of another voice of encouragement to look to the struggles of your life as opportunities for a little faith-growing.  So, I heartily recommend that you go visit Femina and drink in the wisdom that’s found there.

For our verse this week, I chose Romans 11:36, which says,:

For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever.  Amen.

Just a good reminder that our lives aren’t chaotic happenstance.  But, rather, they are for the express purpose of bringing glory to Christ.  That would be a huge, unattainable goal were it not for the fact that it is only through the One to whom all glory belongs that we have the ability in any measure to exactly that!   Isn’t He good?  What He commands, He enables.  We serve an awesome God.
Please stop by our forum and gallery at Faith Sisters and let us know how your Providence 365 is going.  We’d love to hear from you and to see your layouts.
