Hello ladies!!  I am debuting another new digital kit this weekend and would like to give you the chance to win it!!  It is called Punkin Patch (so named because we used to call my daughter "Punkin" and so she thought that's how you said pumpkin.  Now everytime I hear pumpkin, I think of that).  It is packed full of goodies - 16 papers and 43 elements!!!  I drew many of the elements from scratch and made them into felt, paper piecings, and puffy stickers.  I hope you like it - and if you can't wait to see if you win, it is on sale this weekend only for 20% off!!!

Ok - now the contest.  I'm making it simple.  Since Fall is a time that we start to think about what we are thankful for, I'd like you to post in this thread telling about something you are truly thankful for.  On Monday morning, I will randomly select a winner to recieve my kit for FREE!!

I'll start.  I am so thankful that my husband will be coming home tomorrow night for a week.  He has been in Houston working CAT duty (catastrophe).  He is an insurance adjuster, and we just hate hurricane season because it usually means he's away for a while.  I'm also thankful that my grandmother came through her gall bladder surgery with no problems.  PTL!!!!!

Ok - now for what you've been waiting for. . . . . here's the preview!!

Here's an example of what you can do with this kit!  It uses one of the quick pages that is available in a 4 pack that is in my shop and on sale until Monday!

Thanks for playing and good luck!

I love this kit Paula!!  :)  It's absolutely beautiful!!!

This morning I am thankful for my husband.  He took our boys with him to the office.  I have a few hours by myself to do whatever I want with.   :thuu:  He is a fabulous man with a big heart who works really hard to provide for us so that I can homeschool the boys.  I love him to pieces.

Paula, this is a beautiful kit. My hubby & I have been through tornadoes where we've been really grateful for those CAT teams! I'm sure it's a difficult job, but I'm so glad people like your DH do it, it makes such a big difference in how quickly people can get back on their feet!

So much to be thankful for, but I think today especially it's #1 that God's mercies are new every morning (which inspires me to give my children new mercies every morning :giggle: ) and #2 that I'm blessed to stay home and hear the "joyful" noise of my children as they grow up.  (Can you tell what kind of morning it's been at my house? LOL )

How beautiful !

The more I read about my faithsisters illness's and crunch time economically, I am reminded how blessed I am and thankful for:
Good health
A prosperous business in the midst of the oil boom
and an amazing husband who loves God.

I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win, I hope I win. (fingers crossed)

Very nice Paula, Love the bows and the buttons.

I think this very day I am thankful for friends who pray. My son has been so sad and many of you and other friends have been praying for him. Being a single mom you feel as if you are totally on your own, the prayers of friends are priceless to me. Jacob had a good day at school today. (the first in weeks) It made my heart smile to see him smile about his day.  Thanks you to all who have prayed for him this week.

I am just loving reading about everyone's blessings!!  It's nice to stop once in a while and think about what God has blessed us with.  It's too often that I find myself thinking about all the bad stuff going on and how busy I am.  When I stop and think about the good and all my blessings that God has given me, it makes the other seem so much smaller.

JackieAnn - I'm right there with you - my family is always right at the top of my list of things I'm thankful for!!!

Barb - I understand your joy!!  My son is in a Pre-K for a few hours twice a week, and I soooo cherish those few alone hours that I get!!!!!

Heather - when I read yours - I just had to laugh - not at you - but with you cuz I've been there tooo - almost every day!!  I actually purchased a big rub on to put on a big tile and hang in my house that says "Lord, grant me the patience to deal with my blessings."  That sums it up for me - hehehehehe!!

Rhonda - I know what you mean.  I have been reading those also in the prayer requests and have been praying for those who are having a rough time.  It really does make me thankful for what I have.

Kay - I am sooo glad to hear that Jacob has had a good day - PTL!!  Hopefully this will be a turning point and it will only get better from here.  That will be my prayer for you today!!

Thanks to everyone for participating so far - there's still a couple of days to go!!  Let's keep hearing about those blessings!!

I drew many of the elements from scratch and made them into felt, paper piecings, and puffy stickers.

OK...dumb question...but I've got to ask (btw...I  am not entering this contest because I don't want to hog all your stuff, Paula:giggle: and besides...I wouldn't know what to do with it!  :roflol:   But it does look way cute!  If I had little ones at home, I'd consider going digi just to get this kit!)
But, back to the question...IF this is a digi kit...how can they be felt, paper piecings and puffy stickers?  Am I missing something here?  (see why I don't do digi?  :giggle: )

Hi Marilee!

There are no dumb questions, and I bet you are not the only one who has thought that.  :)  I will try to answer the best that I can.  The "felt" is a texture that you can use.  A lot of times textures are scanned in so they look real.  Once you have a shape that you've designed in the computer, you click and drag that texture over it and blend it in, so if you print out a layout with a digital felt element, it should look like real felt.  The paper piecings are done almost just like a real paper piecing.  You make shapes, but instead of using punches, pens, and scissors, you use your custom shapes, your computer tablet (for drawing) and your eraser tool.  I design each shape and place each shape in a layer above the other until I have the design that I'm after, just as if I were layering the paper pieces by hand and gluing them together.  For example, the pumpkins were 2 ovals, 1 fatter oval, 2 leaves, and a stem and vine that I drew on my tablet.  I layered them, put shadows on the layers so they look like they are really stacked, and even digitally "inked" the edges.  I also used a paper texture to give the piece a look of real paper.  The puffy stickers are designed to look like they stick up in the middle and are sealed together on the sides.  There is a bevel and emboss tool in Photoshop that you can use to do this.  They also are given a shine so they look like the real ones.  I guess in short, there are things you can do digitally to make each piece look like the real "hands on" versions, and I think that's what all designers strive for.  I know for me, when I print out a digital layout, I want it to look so real that people have to touch it to see that it's not done traditionally.

I hope that I was able to answer your questions, and I'm glad that you did ask to give me the opportunity to explain it for you and I'm sure others that might have been wondering the same thing.  :)
