What is Get Scrapped? -or- What's a Speed Scrap?
« on: June 15, 2009, 07:13:29 PM »
We nicknamed our form of speed scrapping 'Get Scrapped' during National Scrapbooking Day, and it stuck...

Here is how it works:

I set aside two hours and 15 minutes to do a speed scrap...if you're speedy it won't take you that long!

At the top of the first hour, I'll give out one direction (for example, I might say choose 3 papers or pick 2 photos or something along those lines.) I give another set of directions every ten minutes until the top of the second hour, for a total of 7 directions.

(Hint: the directions get easier as the scrap progresses, so don't freak out and think you can't do it! lol)

You have a second hour finish all seven instructions and tweak your layout...see? no need to panic, you'll have plenty of time!

Then there is about a 15 minute posting period. All layouts should be uploaded to the gallery; then just post the photo with a link back to the gallery and you "win!"

It's really, really fun! It's also very, very addicting! Once you've done one, and gotten used to the speed thing, you will be hooked!

To post an image in the forum: After you upload to the gallery right click your image and click 'copy image location' - then go back the forum and click the button under the U (it looks like a picture frame) it will put image tags in your post...paste your copied url between the tags 'Ctrl' + V or right click and paste.

I only have one rule: NO stressing allowed. LOL They are meant to be fun. You can interpret the directions any way you'd like, but it's important that you have fun doing it.

I post each direction in the thread, in the chat* room and update the first post (hit F5 to refresh your page.) *To enter the chat room, the link is above the posts in the red bar on the far right.

I'm looking forward to getting scrapped with you!

Karen...I love your instructions!  I am one of those "stressers" when it comes to SS's.  I have tried a few and get all worked up trying to find this or that and then I no sooner find them and I realize I missed 2 more instructions, LOL.  I used to work my best under a time constraint but not so much anymore.  I will take your wonderful words of advice here and try another one.  If I can make the one tonight I will.
