Count It All Joy

It has been awhile since you have heard from me…  a lot has been happening….

Things were getting to stressful for me and it was making me sick, literally.  So I stepped back a bit and looked at my life.  One thing I discovered, I needed to clean up my food.  I am gluten free – so I eat pretty clean, but all of the GF processed foods were not helping.  I also was looking into leaky gut and realized that a lot of the symptoms sound like my oldest daughter (29) who has severe chronic migraines.  So I started thinking about how that could help her as well.  In the midst of all of that, I realized that several other of my kids at home had similar issues going on.  So we have been eliminating ALL process foods from our diet.  I am not replacing things as we use them up.  We may have to give some to a food pantry.  It has been a long process of re-learning to cook without any processed foods and incorporating fermented foods into our diet.

So I am counting it ALL JOY!

James 1:2-4Count it all joy, my brothers,[b] when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I am so thankful that I got sick.  That God showed me how our eating, though fairly healthy, was contributing to how our bodies were reacting to processed foods.  I am thankful that I have seen a change in me.  I am thankful for my oldest daughter is having some “good” days!  I am thankful that God is faithful – that He is perfecting us – that He cares about what is happening in our lives.

In all of this, I realized that things were not where they should be at Faith Sisters.  The focus was too much on digital scrapbooking and that seems to be dwindling.  SO after much praying and discussing, we are going to make some big changes at FS.  We will still have digital scrapbooking, but it will be taking the back burner (be sure to watch what will be happening to our store).  We want to be encouraging you in ALL aspects of life – so we will be making some changes to incorporate these ideas!  We can’t wait to get started, but since I am the admin / IT person / site designer / contributor, things will be happening bit by bit.

Yesterday in church, God reminded me that it is time to get busy again.  We are studying Acts, even when Paul was in jail, he was fervent about sharing the Gospel.

  1. Taking a look around the revamped Faith Sisters. Love the new way you are doing your collabs. Offering free for a limited time is a great thing. I read your message above and first let me say I am sorry you have been sick. I just recently watched a documentary on wheat. I was shocked at what I saw. Our family will be going wheat free starting in August. (Would be sooner but family is coming through out the month of July). I will be praying for your family and for Faith Sisters. I look forward to what God has in store for this community.

    1. Great to see you here – you will probably see some great improvements in your health. You could also try einkorn or spelt, they are better forms of wheat.
